Love is the key and what every heart needs and searches for. Many find love in the world but none find perfect love except through God. He is the only One capable of true, unconditional love. That is what our hearts seek; what every heart desires. Everything else is temporary or imperfect or both.
God beckons us to come to Him and let Him love us perfectly. “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17)
He is what is missing and what our hearts search for. He pursues us and asks us to open our hearts fully to His love. Let down your guard. You are safe with Him. He is your Father and He loves with a relentless pursuit of His children. “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)
I love this quote from Dr Martin Luther King, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” Love covers a multitude of sins. Love heals a multitude of hurts. Love wins souls. Love knows no boundaries.
Love is the most powerful force in the world. With love, we can overcome what is impossible otherwise. When we encounter difficult people and difficult situations, we are to imitate God who loves at all times — no matter what.
If you feel forgotten or unloved, that is a lie of the enemy. God has never forgotten you, and you have never been unloved by God — quite the opposite. He loves us with a perfect, unconditional love. No, it doesn’t matter what you’ve done in the past, He still loves you and desires a relationship with you!
The enemy wants you to hold on to the lies and not experience the joy and freedom of a life lived in and with God. The enemy aims to pollute, dilute and corrupt love. God’s love is true, pure and unfailing. Our job is to accept His love and to love Him back.
Thank you, Lesley, for the great reminder that God is the only one capable of true and perfect love. I think it’s easy to become discouraged if we expect others to love us perfectly, but if we receive that perfect love from our Father and don’t expect it from others, we will be more free to love them the way our Father wants us to, without expecting anything in return.
So true Taylor! Thank you for sharing!!
I echo what Taylor said.
Good post.
