At some point in our lives, we are bound to be asked why we believe in Jesus or perhaps we ask ourselves why we believe in Him. And it is not wrong to question but to question means that we actually pursue and put forth effort into finding the truth. The truth can be found in prayer and by studying and praying through God’s word.
“If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-21
So why do I believe in Jesus? Let me count the ways….
He has calmed my worried heart.
He has healed my wounded heart.
He has sent me dreams to direct my path.
He has given me wisdom and guidance that the world cannot.
He has answered my prayers but also gently said no or not now to others.
He has allowed me to wrestle with Him over hard things determining at the end that He is good and He is sovereign.
He has given me the desires of my heart.
He has rescued me from the pit of despair and desperation.
He has guided my path and given me a heart to love Him above all.
He has allowed me to feel as if I’m cradled in His lap sobbing, desperate, hurting.
He has promised to never leave me nor forsake me.
He is my King, my Lord, my Savior, my Peace, my Joy, my Hope, my Provider, my Protector, my Counselor, my All in All. I love Him and adore Him truly.
I have felt His presence so immensely and have felt His words on my heart so deeply so many times, that I have absolutely no doubt that God is real and that King Jesus is my Risen Savior.
I came to know him at the age of 16. My world was uncertain and a bit upside down. I was looking for hope and I found HIM! As I poured my heart out to Him and searched His word for Truth and Hope, my heart found the peace it had been looking for. I knew no matter what, I had Him. I had Hope. I had Security. And no one could take any of that from me.
God tells us in Jeremiah 29:13, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” It is true, when you seek Him, truly seek Him with all your heart, He will answer you and assure you of Who He is, how good and loving He is and how much he desires a daily relationship with you.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” John 3:16-17
God reaches out in love to you and wants you to be His child. “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.” You too can choose to ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and come into your life as your Lord and Savior.
No decision matters more and no decision has given me so much hope and joy.
